I've searched and found a couple of topics but they were related to fitting baby seats into a double cab.

My question is, can a baby seat fit in a "Access Cab" ?
If so, does anyone have a picture, it would help reinforce my decision on the truck I bought last night
Me and my wife would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks

You put it behind the passenger seat and have to move the seat up a little but it will fit and there are LATCH connections to fasten it to.

I have a one and a two year old that I put in my 05 AC. It is a tight fit but it can be done safely. Just refer to the manual on how to properly connect it. This is not my primary kid hauler so for us it's OK.
  5. its not going to fit rear facing in a access cab. i had to buy a d/c for that reason of a newborn, and its still a tight fit. if you face the seat foward it should be a problem (i think)

This was the deciding factor for me buying the DoubleCab... I don't even have kids, yet... So far, I love my DoubleCab Shortbed...

It will fit rear facing....it's tight.but doable. Forward facing would be better...and it might not be great as a primary kid hauler cause it is tight...but I'm taking my boy to daycare in mine in a few minutes...

ive done it with a rear facing seat as well...it was very tight and the passenger seat had to be all the way up. as stated above its fine as long as its not your primary kid hauler since it does work but not very comfortably.

the primary reason I got the double cab is that I didn't want to struggle with baby seats. If I were you, I'd return it and get the DC.

It'll fit, don't worry... it may not be comfortable though, depending on what you mean by baby seat (forward facing, rearward facing, booster, etc)

If forward facing I'd put the baby seat in front (front seat has LATCH, airbag can be turned off) and the wife in the back. Or in the back with the passenger seat folded to a table. Either way you only have that seat for a year so it's short term. In mine I have a forward facing baby seat in the back passenger side and a booster on the driver side and we can fit 4 comfortably for shorter trips. Even long trips if we had to, just don't have space for other stuff (like diaper bags, movies, etc).

  12. It'll work. Hell, I had one in both positions (rear and forward facing) in the back of my 1st gen access cab.

I bought the doublecab because it was EXTREMELY uncomfortable if someone had to ride up front with me. It was better for my wife to sit in the back because the front seat had to be all the way forward. This may be moot point because the 2nd gen is bigger.

BUT....plan on growth. Those legs are small now but eventually grow and stick out past the end of the car seat. They don't bend down a first - just stick straight out.

I have a seat in my Doublecab and it fits well. This is a multi-use seat that accommodates from 0-80#'s. Here it is forward facing in my DC. You can see how tight it is. She is only 1.5 yrs old and I have since wrapped the rear of the front seat because she kicks it with her dirty shoes.

    Thanks for the responses guy's.

I should have mentioned that this Tacoma is not our primary vehicle, we do have a camry for most of our car needs.. The taco will be used every now and then, when we need to.. So if it's possible (and some of you are saying it is) then I think were ok.

On the 2009's, (at least in Canada) the car seats have to be put in the rear of the drivers seat, and not the passenger side. It has the instructions there and the nylon strap.

I have an 06 Access Cab and yes you can fit a car seat in it. We have the Chicco KeyFit 30. It is rear facing and has a base that stays connected in the car and the seat just snaps in and out. In my truck, i fold down the little seat covering the storage compartment, set the base on, and used the LATCH anchors. The car seat base has a bubble level on both sides and I had to put a couple sheets under the seat handle to jack it up to a proper level. Yes, you do have to have the passenger seat rather far forward, but I usually only have the little guy in my truck when I'm alone. If my wife is coming along, we drive her 09 Matrix.

In my 2012 I put my sons rear facing car seat in the middle of the truck when my wife rode in the truck too, the two front seats cradled it also and hooked to a latch on each side. This worked very well. When it was just me and him I put him behind passenger seat and folded the front seat or pushed all the way up. Hope this helps your situation. It was also the chico keyfit.

I don't have kids yet but my fiance and I are already contemplating getting a double cab for future growth. She has a '17 Jetta, but does outside sales so she can't really have baby crap in her car when taking clients out... whiiiiiich leaves my truck for potential kid duty.
